I disagree. I enjoy watching some intense action during the replays but Campaigns and Battles are utlimately frustrating affairs. The battles are not as immersive or engaging as the original RTW.
...
Yup. I regard the original release as a scam in that they promised something they knew the Warscape Engine could not deliver at that point. The EE is okay but still feels like a fix.
I keep breaking the rules of this game /facepalm
I'll leave that battle image there anyway. Adios.

Hint: "Strewth! That guy just lost his head, to be sure."
Is it a battle involving Pyrrhus?
[EDIT] Nope. Methinks the Gaza poster got it right.
Apologies to the poster of the picture; I had assumed all battles had been named -- assumption is the mother of all etc...
Correct, the Battle of Navarino!

An exciting and erudite refutation of that claim; which I took at face value.

Clue: the island of disaster at the left side of the picture ;)

I thought Matthew's study of the mechanics of hoplite warfare, concluded that a fully armoured hoplite can continue to strike, using the underarm posture, for far longer than 2 minutes? However, he...
I like this reasoning. Chimes with an Ancient Warfare article which argues that the "pike" phalanx should be classed as light infantry, given the evolution described by JaM. Plus, if you accept...

I've actually found myself enjoying EE at times. Still hugely frustrating but there are moments...

I want THIS as battle music ;)
I've messed around with the EE for a bit and I think the game is now okay. I'd give it a 6, maybe a 7 if I'm not totally frustrated by...okay this is a praise thread :P Fairplay to CA for...
The battle engine is bizarro and not as good as the RTW1 engine. Which is bizarro!!!!
We keep hoping it will become enjoyable :P
Implying or stating that Putin is responsible for the murder of Nemtsov, is a conspiracy theory.
Demonizing an entire people now. Nice. [EDIT] Well, at least "a large part" of the Russian population. I suggest you go the full hog and apply Goldhagen's social cogntive model to the Russians -...
You mean a patsy? ;P
Lol....I started cracking up around about here...:D
Wasn't it called "Digital Fix"? Ah, the English language and subtext make the perfect carrier of irony and deceit.
"The Digital Fix" review (ya don't say ;))

I think it earned numerous awards. Before it was released. This is more than an inadequate review or CA overhyping the game. It was a "pump and dump" scam.
I'm still wondering from which dark place they pulled their 85% score. I now avoid PC Gamer like the plague (just read their latest Attila article - full of "pump and dump" hyperbole). Yes,...
Voted. From dynamic action to epic vistas, they're all great. Thanks.
Anyone checked out the latest PC Gamer article on Attila? Seems to be the same old "pump and dump" hyperbole.

Like I said, we in the west are just as brainwashed (if not more so because it is so subtle and insidious) and if you cannot accept that fact, then we'll be continually "WMD'd" by our elites...

Unlike Russia and NK, Saddam did not have WMDs - didn't you get the memo?
See point about WMDs, i.e. the West is just as brainwashed in my opinion :P

Exactly. Does not compute. Besides, he's too kind to CA regarding the bizarro battle mechanics, the real game killer.
