    Only i can think of is that you have assigned the texture to a different model. The model CAS. file might be placing the sword texture on a different place on the texture itself.

    Save the xcf as a .tga file to reduce it to one single layer. Then save it as a dds and chose for compression BC3/DTX5 and tick "generate minimaps". I think it will work but if not give some feedback.

    It was an actual five ranks or similar. Actual files would go between 8 men to 16 men. It progressively increased from Philip to the Diadochi, as cavalry was less and less used on the "hammer" role.

    true, Cavalry charges are much more efective when the infantry is pinned and tired. Against fresh non engaged troops, riders can get easily bogged down and waste precious lives for nothing.

    And it's advisable not to totally surround a unit in order for it to rout. Ctrl+T is my friend for those very few who prefer a glorious death to understandable retreat.
