I'd like some tips for how to start out with Scotland in Stainless Steel's campaign. I like playing as Scotland, but getting a massive attack from England when I'm completely unprepared, as always happens, isn't fun.

I started a new campaign as Scotland. I built up an army as quickly as possible. I took York with minimal losses, am about to attack Nottingham which only has a general as its garrison, and have another (smaller) army on the way while I'm building a third. Sadly, they have longbows in a full stack along with other things and although it's led by a captain, I want to have minimal interaction with it.
Alright. Thank you. I'll check there. I think I actually managed to handle England well enough that I don't need much help for the time being, which is very surprising.
