Looks nice. :)
But I am scared! What would happen if a minor Catholic (now heretic) duke was about to inherit my dearly carved-out Roman Empire! I would die of fright. :fear:
On the second note, all can see how overpowered merchant republics are.
Ehh, not so powerful compared to me. The ocassional embargo war makes them remember their place.
I totally embargo them from my Eastern Roman Empire.
The Venetians once opened a trade post in Constantinople, but I didn't kick them out (mainly for economy and tax bonus). Then they dared to declare war on me to seize the Hieron district from me, at which I was furious. They actually declared war not only on me, but 3,752 ships and 70, 000 Byzantine soldiers, excluding the retinue of 10, 000 Cataphracts.

How come Belgium is still independent? :P
Why not?

Games are not real life.
Technically they're in my SoL. During a lengthly period of power vacuum within Metropolitan France, they did indeed enjoy being free of all influence from the other powers. This was to be brief however, when the victorious Legitimists backstabbed their Jacobite allies whom in return caused their own downfall, the Belgians whole heartily recognized the new regime bysucking up to meoffering a alliance toscare away their German neighboursrenew the bonds between us.
