niceeeeee... can't wait to try this
Will there be any reskinning or prettying up the units a bit? :sim:
Yes, of course! As you can see, the Persians have already gotten such an overhaul.
Please try the new vegetations. Just one try. If they look better on 3.0, you could add them.
Also, how's the work going ATM?
In a bit of a stalemate
*gets reminded he needs to upload the Spartan faction asap*
Why? Persia>Sparta.
How larger the new map? how many more provinces?
also, any clue on when could came a new release? (im not intending to harass or hurry, is just to get an idea)
the map is indeed "larger", but it doesn't extend any further than the original. Same provinces.
Release: when it's done.
It's like a zoomed-in version of the previous map.
But before you go to play some other mods, remember, that there were few cities back then.
Their numbers swelled after Cyrus had united 1/3 of the world's population, though.
It's not trolling, it's TWC routine. FFS, we're not making this mod for you, we're making it because we think it's fun making a mod, we're doing it for ourselves in the first place. We don't earn our money with creating this (unlike regular game companies), so we don't have a deadline. We spend hours on doing this, and then someone like you comes in with stuff like "when's the release". Try to make a mod yourself, you'll see how irritating it becomes after the first 12 times. Really, when we have a date we'll tell you. "When it's done" is everything I can tell you. It is the real answer.
Ask any other modder who's (been) working on something: Tone, Apple, DVK, Ramashan, Solo, Aradan, Jarlaxe, Pompeius Magnus, Patrician, and the list goes on and on and on. You'll always get the same answer. Just stop trying to ask for a release date when there isn't any.

Well you simply cant make a good estimate on moding progress.
You never know whats going to happen. What if they lose one modeler or gain a new one. What if they decide to make improvements in a area that they didn't think of before and what if one or more of the developers have some real life issues that makes him unable to work on the mod for months or makes the time hi can invest in it very limited.
There has never been and will never be a mod that can say when the mod will be release. It's simply impossible to count all the factors.
Not only TWC routine, but kinda every mod/indie developerQuote:

That's not the point :P
You know the funniest thing? By accusing Bulletproof of trolling he/she has become the troller! Irony!:laughter: Ok, an on topic question.
I noticed in the last build that if you are zoomed in during a battle and you pass over cavalry the warriors simply disappear/reappear when they reach a certain point at the edge of the screen. Is there something being done to rectify this? I would like to add my congrats to the team for doing something I can't and allowing us all to enjoy the fruits of the labour.:beerchug: cheers!
Lack of sprites combined with no model in use from a certain camera distance; didn't know RoP had that problem :P
Can be fixed quite easily, don't worry.
I have been reading this forum a bit, honestly i'm a bit confused. What version of RTW will ROP 3 work with?
You need RTW patched to 1.5.
Good to know that the mod is still alive ! I was getting depressed a few months ago. Btw concerning the scythed chariots, the late Achaemenids had them, so when did they appear ? Otherwise different cities are not were they should be on the map (ex. Daskyleion). Would you consider inserting historical events (like, no persian fleet before the conquest of Phoenicia or Greece), or the natural death of a character bearing a historical name (at least for the kings; maybe rewarding the player for trying to follow the course of history) ? Maybe some more detailed sheets (like in the mod "Iberian Conflict) would help to get a better grasp of the Achaemenid Empire... Keep up the good work.
