Alternative Download RR/RC and subsequent patches
If you have troubles with Megaupload (IP blocked, download limit reached, etc), I've set up a public ftp access site at http://inkleined.com/m2tw/. You can also download by HTTP, also. All three parts (Part 1 & 2 of RR/RC and the July 1 update) can be found and downloaded there.
EDIT: August 19, 2010 -
Before downloading Parts 1 & 2 of RR/RC and subsequent patches/hotfixes, you will need Stainless Steel 6.0 and 6.1 patch. You can download these at:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=159996
or by torrent at
http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=2817
or by public ftp from
ftp://ftp.inkleined.com (instructions at http://inkleined.com/m2tw/index.php
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
That's very community spirited of you.
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
thanks i needed this exceeded my megaupload server
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
I use this mod (and a few others) ...it's given me many, many hours of entertainment, so I'm glad I could help in return.
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
I've switch hosting companies...so I've updated my site.
Cheers
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
I've uploaded the April 11 version. April was a busy month, but probably nothing like the summer to come....
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
Can you update the title of the first post? Seems like some take it to literally even if they are told that they can download everthing needed from there
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
Just wanted to let you know that internet explorer in vista seems to have trouble accessing the ftp. Opera and FF work fine. Maybe someone familiar with ie can shed some light on that issue.
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
Thanks bane_tw. I'll update the html part of my site.
I have no idea why Internet Explorer doesn't work. I don't use Windows, so I'm unfamiliar with Internet Explorer. It's odd...
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
Is the torrent the same as Stainless Steel 6.0 incl. 6.1 Patch ?
Because that one is healthy and kicking for a while. 15 seeders atm.
Re: Alternative Download for Feb 28 Update
No. I wasn't aware another one existed. I'll use your link to point others there. Changed the name of the topic, also. I almost always miss some mundane detail...

Out of curiousity i tried the good old ftp tool in command prompt. Even that works.
Something I found on that issue (If I'm correctly identifying your server software):
Quote:
Users might have trouble connecting through Internet Explorer. This is because IE, among others, tries to connect anonymously and may not give pure-ftpd the proper chance to request a username and password. One can, in the pure-ftp.conf file change the line BrokenClientsCompatibility from no to yes. This might or might not work, it seems to depend upon what version of IE that someone is using.
However, they should be able to use their browser by typing in an address like
ftp://john@ftpserver.example.com
with john being the username and ftpserver.example.com being, obviously enough, the ftp server.
http://www.scottro.net/qnd/qnd-pureftpd.html
I've tested the above (including user/pass in the link was the first thing I did) but its either down to the ie version or due to having "anonymous@inkleined.com" as a username which might confuse ie. Switching to Opera or FF takes care of it... oh well.

Just so its mentioned: the torrent has 3 dedicated (http?) seeders so it will stay alive. no idea if they could also seed RR/RC
Re: Alternative Download RR/RC and subsequent patches
OK, so now I have the ftp and regular http downloads. Instead of asking my hosting company about configurations and such, I just copied the files over to the http part of the site. For some ungodly reason I thought ftp would be easier. I have no idea why I thought this...I can be pretty hare-brained sometimes. But, now I know more about the ftp my hosting company uses.
Well, I learned something new today, so not a bad day at all. And, the site was updated to reflect the links.
Thanks again!
Re: Alternative Download RR/RC and subsequent patches
Just a bump to put it at the front so maybe new people will see it.

Another bump. Maybe you could PM CC and PB about making this topic a sticky / refering to it in the install post.

Re: Alternative Download RR/RC and subsequent patches
Hey,
I can't find the second part of the 1.3 RR/RC Mod for StSt 6.1
The link in http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=380361 this thread is dead.
Re: Alternative Download RR/RC and subsequent patches
I have installed part 1 & 2 plus the first update already. Can I install stainless steel on top of them or do I need to start all over?
