Carthage expansion from 646 AUC to 679 AUC based on Du Silence two last posts ? What am i missing ?
In 646 AUC, Carthage is in her starting position acording to the map. In 679 AUC it holds the entire western Europe. So...33 years.
Update on my Averni campaign (H/H, 1 Turn). The Scythians invade Noreia.

Nice update, you seem to have a nicely balanced campaign on your hands, without a huge superpower eating the other factions.
And I decided it was enough with the carthagian march, so I played at them a bit behind the scences, fueling my treassury to the remains of the Cimbri and the Romans.
Unfortunately...

Dibbles, im curious as to how you managed to defeat Scythian armies with little over than 200 casualties. If im not mistaken Scythia is mostly a horse archer faction and your armies seem infantry based.
@ Du Silence: Quote: "Besides, horsebased enemies are annoying."
hmmm that makes me wanna ally with 'em! :laughter:
Well Grimbold i must disagree.
From my previous encounters with the Scythians, they seem to recruit en masse scythian spearmen and those slavic levies. They do have some cavalry, but it seems that they hardly recruit them.(not as much as they should in my oppinion.).
Hwy dibbles, could you ,if possible, post your current savegame and under what settings you play the campain, i would like to give yours a try.
Predator salutes you!
It's taking ages to load all those updates Dibbles. :\
So, my faction leader-Antiochus III Nikator Emperor of the Seleucid Empire - got the ancillary Hannibal ????
I find this interesting. How do you think about it?
Very very cool though :) :) Guess he fled to the Seleucid's in your alternate history experience ^^ I've yet had the pleasure to receive him :)
It shouldn't be only for the Seleucids .What Grimbold said is correct ,Hannibal fled to Antiochus III and if i remember correctly he was present at a battle (Magnetia or something similar) between Antiochus III and Rome. However he wasn't allowed to command the army and the romans won the battle. After than Hannibal goes to the Armenians and then to Bythinia where he suicides himself .I have played 2 campaigns with Armenia and i haven't seen the ancillary ,so it may be only for the Seleucids.

These things are by far the best in Mods. These traits/retainers give a whole different sense to the game, not just conquering every province.
It feels like an RPG with characters good, bad, evil, stupid, paranoid, traitors and so much more.
And now we see Antiochos has Hannibal as an Advisor, just like in reality.
This shows respect to history and respect to players, both equally and too much important.
My username explains a bit my entusiasm:laughter:
Congratulations for one more time RS team, you show everyone how things should be done:beerchug:
Chokepoint with missile heavy infrantry army ;) Then sinply bulk ahead with massive armies that entice them to not really attack the stacks on the march.
Once you've sent 1 army to besiege a city, have the other armies roam around and pick off archers.
the tactic varies on nation, but I loathe horsearchers, besides, the Sarmatians have some of the best, so you're bound to suffer more casualties unless you isolate and and overpower.
Ambushes have been successfull tactic for me, positioning some infantry or cavalry to cut off and disrupt their formation, while the main line entices the enemy to advance and leave the ambushing forces to pick off the units they managed to break from formation.
But really, I prefer to use archers against them. keeping a solid line while trying to pick off enemy units a bit at a time... It's bloody business.
They have been sending mostly infantry armies at me. One or two units of HAs per stack max. The most annoying unit they have is the Royal Infantry which is an archer unit w/spears. I do not enjoy fighting Scythia.
EDIT: I just had another look at the update. Its actually rare that i got away with that little casualties. I was even soundly defeated a couple of times!
@Sertorio Thanks! I've been trying to balance it through giving tribute to neighbours. Luckily Sparte went East and will be occupied there for a long time. Carthage is now at my border. They are the strongest faction.
@First Citizen Galleinus Do you mean because there are so many screenshots or that i am taking ages in between updates?
@Predator1994 Yes i would be happy to post the save game! Can you remind me how one does that?
