Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Hi, I've just installed radious unit pack2 sengoku and radious mod total war mod. After that i noticed the black ship and cannon bune have no canon fire sound, only when the cannon balls hit the ship but not when it fires. I don't know which other models have this problem. I have installed the sound fix with no help, and so far are the only sounds missing (haven't tried field canons)
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Seems like when there's too many unit mods Sinfonia Semplice seems to mess up and I still get the errors.....
or maybe I'm just messing up the unique ID stuff

I agree. DMS doesn't need the fix anymore, but according some postings in the DMS sub-section, I guess some players are still using outdated table/unit mods, or some of them aren't getting properly updated. Things like cavalry-trumpet sounds, feint cannon sounds etc...
[for me everything is back to normal after removing the fix & script entry since patch-day]
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Every mod with custom units needs this. DM has no single custom unit.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Yes but when I have 3+ mods then the sound bug still persists despite that I followed the fotspatch5 dummy trick.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
I have no sound issues with my unit packs. Only thing is that cavalry is using bugle horns but thats something what cant be fixed and its not really issue.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Hmm....
So it seems that when there's no problem (but unit mods present), using Sinfonia Semplice can actually cause a problem.....

Yeah, but using DMS and custom units is a bit weird. As you need the soundfix as you've noted, but then you get the conflict for DMS. (and not only the trumpet sound...nearly everything is f'ed)
But there are several different issues and it's hard to say, what exactly causes the whole mess.
As mentioned, for only DMS it was needed prior to the patch, but not anymore.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Every time I try to use htis, I get this error message:
Anyone know how to fix this? :hmm:

Did all of what you said still get errors, is there a work around possibly?

Yes with a fake file here: Attachment 239310
Put all mods you want to use in your data folder, make backup of your patch_fots5.pack, then overwite it with this fake file provided. When you do simply run semplica tool and it will work and no more bow and cannon sounds. After semplica is done put back original patch_fots5.pack. All done.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Thanks Radious, plus rep for you Mr.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Interesting. I run it from the "total war shogun 2" folder and haven't had such an issue.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
I tried this mod and received this error message. Any advice?

I'm not going to pretend I understand what he was talking about. I've no idea what I'm supposed to do.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
I fixed my earlier problem by relabeling the columns in my mods.
So instead of just "unit_stats_land" I'd rename the column as "IG_unit_stats_land"
Sinfonia Semplice works like a charm afterwards; even the cavalry use the little trumpet sounds.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Seriously, can anyone give me some in depth help? I've no clue what to do. I don't understand any of the instructions left in previous posts, and I also believe my problem may be unique. It seems like the Sinfonia program is looking for a file that I don't have (and I don't, because I've searched for it) then shows my the error message and simply closes.
Re: Sinfonia Semplice (Sound Fixing Tool)
Download the dummy file Radious posted and put into your Shogun 2 data folder. Run the Sinfonia Semplice program and you're done. Not hard.
