I then click on the bat file and it opens the medieval total war launcher and when I select play it gives me the option of playing the regular Medieval Total War II game or each of the kingdoms campaigns. Which do I select to play Expanded Americas?

It only happens during battle. no other issues or problems detected but it's extremely frustrating. The error is "Medieval2.exe has stopped responding" then the whole screen freezes.
