This Kingdoms mod allows the player to start in 1080, 1200, 1230, 1300, 1347, 1400, 1453, 1500, and 1547. It contains several new factions, units, traits, and ancillaries. Certain technologies will become available as the mod progresses.
The 1.5.1 version is split over three files (conquest 1.5.7z.001, conquest 1.5.7z.002, and conquest 1.5.7z.003), all of which have to be downloaded and unpacked using 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/).
1) After downloading conquest 1.5.7z.001, conquest 1.5.7z.002, and conquest 1.5.7z.003 put them in the same folder.
2) Right click on the 'conquest 1.5.7z.001', select '7-zip' on the pop-up menu, then select 'Extract Here'. 7zip will unpack all three files. If you have problems extracting these files you can download the whole mod as one file here http://depositfiles.com/en/files/opie1pxqq .
3) After being unpacked you will have a 'data' folder, 'mods' folder, 'conquest XP.bat', 'conquest VISTA.bat', and 'conquest.cfg'. These all need to be put into the Medieval II Total War directory (default location 'C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War').
To start the mod double click on the 'conquest XP.bat' or 'conquest VISTA.bat'; this will bring up the Eras Menu. Select the campaign you want to play (type either 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E', '1', '2', or '3' and press 'enter').
If the Eras Menu closes after loading the files but the mod doesn't start then double click on the 'conquest.bat' and on the Eras Menu type '0' (zero).
i have copied the strat files (patch) into the right places and have kingdoms installed. Why does it still come up with these files copies then the game still doesn't start?????
Try double clicking on the Conquest.bat and on the pop-up meny type '0' (the number zero), then hit enter. This will start the mod without copying any files.
Very good mod, finally got it working after some tweeking. Only it takes a while for the game to cycle through all the factions on the campagin which gets pertty exasperating.
Your mod is good and I can give you an A but you must make 2 changements in 1346 mod for histroşcal accuracy.:hmmm: A) At first Il-khanate was disestablished in 1335 so there was no Il-Khanate in1346 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilkhanate ):hmmm:
B) Make some changements for Ottoman Empire in 1346 Ottoman empire was only controlled these cities.Nicaea(izmit),Nicomedia (izmit) and Anatolian side of Galliapoli (ēanakkale),Bursa (brussa) (northwest of anatolian cities) Ottomans was not controlled Smyrna (izmir) or Iconium (konya) these cities were controlled by several turkish beyliks.Such as Germiyanoğulları, Karamanoğulları (the strongest beylik till 1340)...etc Look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anatolian_Turkish_Beyliks
for helping here is the map of ottoman empire phase by phase Rise of Ottoman Empire:hmmm:
Thank you very much for your mod and I am looking forward to see the entire world mod.
I'm having the same problem like Thanos, Hreidmar and Vlad. I've made all the stpes uanime said but the game still doesn't start. Is there something else I could do?
Hey can you please give step by step intructions on how to play, because I did what it said to do, eg first post, and readme i think. But still doesnt work. And I think others have the same problem
This is a great mod, but very unfinished, I have seen unit models badly made, and textures barely touched from the the original game which make some nations unit textures very much the same, and some model dont even appear on the battle map, animations are weird as well, such as spearmen using swordsmen animations which make no sense at all. Overall i think the campaign map is excellent but i suggest to work on the things i said and make it a no. 1 priority in later versions.
mgoods69 as I advised Thanos, Hreidmar and Vlad try double clicking on the Conquest.bat and on the pop-up meny type '0' (the number zero), then hit enter. This will start the mod without copying any files.
If the mod won't copy files try starting it by typing '0', rather than '1' or '2', and pressing enter. The mod should then start and show the splash screen I made, rather than the default one. If it doesn't then the mod may be in the wrong folder.
rob12345 which units don't appear and which spearmen have swordsmen animations?
Hmm is there any way you could make the map a little bigger. For example the Italian Peninsula seems extremely small in comparison with the vanilla version , as a matter of fact all of Europe is ridiculously small, and another thing that could be improved is the mountain ranges could be made to look much more natural. Look at mods such as the 100 years war , they have made the map about 20 times bigger so it is possible. Other than that I know it is a good mod for I played Total War Eras which was great. Keep at it, fix the bugs mentioned above and you will be the number 1 mod for Medieval 2
I'm not that good at making textures, so I can only change how the mountains by using other mods. Do you know of another mod that has good looking mountains.
The maximum map size is 510 x 510. As the Crusades and Renaissance maps are both 510 x 510, and the Empires map is 510 x 350 I can't make them that much bigger without cutting parts off other continents.
Europe is much smaller in my mod because I'm representing it proportionally to other continents. I was surprised just how small Europe was the first time I saw it on a world map.
Yes I know it is proportional, but it makes the terrain look terrible. At any rate I know modding is one of the most difficult things in the world so I cannot really say my opinion. Thank you
