What you have to do to before is to create a text file that contains a correct tag (simply copy the first lines of the English file) and the game will recreate the .strings.bin file in the folder which contains all the tags.
You then have to open it (in a HEX editor or a text editor), remove everything up to the first "{" and save again as shared.txt in the same folder as the python file. Then put the original shared.txt.strings.bin in the same folder and run the script.
This should generate you a text file called shared2.txt if everything goes well. Open this with a text editor and remove every line that still contains "shared.txt" - that should be all.

You can freely redistribute files generated with this script, or the script itself (changed or unchanged) as far as I'm concerned.
