Still has a virus, Worm Win32 Parite.B, as of 950 PM PST

Do not Download!

I am cleaning my Computer as we speak.

As soon as I went to execute the tool, my Anti-Virus caught it.

Download at own risk.....

I'm the AUTHOR of Rome Tool : be sure that it does not contain any virus.

I programmed it using DELPHI and I included two programs made by Vercingetorix which can be detected as virus because they are BATCH files and only because of their extension .bat (a common way to create virus).

In the french community, the tool has been dowloaded from January 2003 and NO PROBLEMS have been noticed.

PLEASE USE A GOOD ANTI-VIRUS ! CHECKED WITH ADWARE, SPYBOOT, NORTON, AVAST...

Do you really think it was my objective ? Please, be serious... The RTR team asked me to use my tool, is it not enough for you ?!

UDun, feel free to email me instead of warning everybody like this...

It was not my intention to do anything except let people know that when I went to install the program, my Microsoft anti virus tool Windows live one care immediatly picked up and notified me of a Virus Called Worm win32 parite.B I dont believe that it was placed there intentionally by any of the fine contributers to this site that nothing was done by the programmer of this tool, as a newer member to the community, I think it is fantastic that folks like yourself are out there writing programs like this, I am very grateful for all of the contributers to this site, one day when I learn how to edit properlly mabye even I can contribute something. Anyway, My post was not meant in anyway to offend anyone, I thought by posting about the virus again, that I was being responsible, and trying to save others from what I went through upon installing this Software.

Thank you everyone at TWC for all of you awesome mods, add-ons and Tools

Once again

UDun, thanks for the reply, however we are still getting the virus warning....I know what you said about what you have checked but the problem remains.
The files download into French folders I am assuming ( forgive my ignorance please)because of this my computer does not recognise the files and says It cannot access the files or I do not have the necessary permissions...!!...Is it as easy to change the file names to English in order that the program works...???

Hi Mates!

I downloaded this yesterday.

1) The tool is completely in english
2) It works on my German Windows XP System without any problems

3.) Warning! I read all this replys before downloading and got the virus Warning!
As you said the Warning is due to the "
Vercingetorix command prompt"
This may be correct, but about 2 mins after ignoring it, my PC had 179 infected filesdone by the virus "PE_PARITE.A". I checked Google and found this:

Quote:
Parite/Pinfi is one of the MOST destructive viruses around. But almost all antivirus websites under-rate it's destructive abiliities
For people that are allready infected, this will save your system:

My PC seems free of the virus again now!

4) Udun, your program is really great and i thank you for your Work . I hope you can clean the Download File from the Virus! And just another small Question:

Is it possible to change which starting Provinces a faction has? I would really like to play Italy just with Julii Troups and without a senate controlled Rome ...

Greetings to all of you!
