I'm willing to give this mod a try. There are things in the description that I like. There are also some I don't like. I don't mind the Rebel Army spawns, and I think build times are already too long, but I am willing to try it.:hmmm:

I have installed this mod now, and copied the suggested folders. I haven't had a battle, but I am enjoying the mod so far. Really liked the load screens. My only suggestion is that some people will not install a mod unless it is point and shoot. If you packed those to be copied filed with the mod, the download might be larger, but more people might try it.

If you try this mod, and you are experiencing lag during sieges, or if you want to try this mod, and before you have a siege battle edit your LongRoad.cfg in the main Med 2 folder:

If you have lag in sieges:

Yes, I and many others have had this problem; it is very easy to fix. The simplest way to fix it is to go to the folder where your main Med 2 installation is located. Open that folder. I don't know what mod you are playing. The problem is corrected in those rainbow colored files that say .cfg. Could be DarthMod.cfg; WinningComboMod.cfg; whatever: right click on the file and go to open with; select notepad; once the file is open, scroll down to video; set building detail to low and shader to 1; if that doesn't quite do it for you, open it again and set bloom to 1 and antialiasing to 0. Some combination of these WILL work. If you need more help, go to www.twcenter.net and go to the comments at the WinningComboMod. Happy gaming.

Also, at www.twcenter.net download the Medieval 2 Mod Manager.

I'm ready to try 1.6. I was playing the Spurius LateEra, but when I upgraded to 1.4, I started to get crashes even though I started a new campaign. I like the recruitable generals, which this mod has. I just wish someone could get it all together. I wish there were a map editor for Med 2.

Ok, I'm playing and enjoying this with no crashes. Appreciate that the map and resources have been improved. There seems to be a vertical bias; things seem elongated; can I change that? Otherwise I really like the whole thing.

Have been playing LongRoad now for over a week and enjoying it with no bugs whatsoever. I notice that only about 400 people have downloaded this mod. Get it. Play it. Love it.

In my opinion, the Long Road is the best mod of the early M2TW modifications. I've been playing nonstop for about two weeks, and haven't had a single problem.

For the future, I want Byzantine gunpowder units! Had the Empire survived, they would have acquired such units.

Thanks Ely Soto (aka tornnight)! I've been awaiting this release! This is definitely the best mod of M2TW I've played so far, and I've played quite a few

This is better then lands to conquer I think. Its more harder;Which is a good thing.

Why harder because in all the other mods you jest build up your empire so easily even on very hard not even 30 turns i got almost 70% percent of the map. This mods you have to actually build your Economy then your military;so then actually are big empire/factions you got too face; i love that.

Glad to see that LongRoad is over the 2000 download mark now. It is one of the very best of the BigMap mods.

Well, there is another solution to the problem of the lag in cities - try to install re-textured textures in the cities.

Yes, there is a mod for lower city textures, but the same thing can be done by setting building detail to low. Any rate, I am still playing Long Road and loving it.
