Law without a righteous party applying it is dead, this is why I don't give a to International Law. The day China become superpower International law will be obsolete.
Law only rarely lets reality interfere with its work. At least when it comes to such international, life-or-death business.
Law school logic : We are going to let them get all the weapons and maybe some one will get killed ... but at least it is legal.
