Conversation Between Prodigal and Dan the Man

  1. Read the lives of the saints, many saintly ascetics were clairvoyant. They would pray for a man's specific sins before he could confess them.
  2. Interesting life. Though, I'm not quite sure about the whole thing about ascetics being clairvoyant. Is that really Orthodox? I know God could make them clairvoyant if He wanted, but it seems to border on the occult almost. Maybe that's what I'm just used to it being associated with.
Almost nobody non-Orthodox that I know would realize that St. Nicholas was a Greek Bishop of Myra in Anatolia.
So true. My mom thought he was a German.
  3. That's hilarious, those are Russian icons at the top!

LOL I think those are icons up near the ceiling too.
  5. Amazing! I wonder if there's an original article from whatever Soviet-era paper published the story originally. Even if it's in Russian it'd be nice to be able to throw it in doubters' faces.
  6. Glory to God, infinitely merciful and wise.

  9. Well, he's Lebanese, so it was always a possibility. I assumed he would be Maronite though.
