Hardcoded limit for the number of climates is 12, vanilla uses 10 which are namely: alpine 57,181,74highland 141,198,63mediterranean 236,0,140rocky_desert 146,39,143sandy_desert 102,45,145semi_arid 0,114,188steppe 237,28,36temperate_coniferous_forest 247,148,29temperate_deciduous_forest 242,101,34tropical 0,166,81unused1 237,20,91unused2 255,242,0 You can use the 2 slots that are unused. In descr_climates.txt you can mention the tree you want to use, the .cas (3D model for your tree) file that is.
Hi Ishan, another question Is there any climate that gives you pine forest on the strat map?
Yea, I will see, first have to get a working map
Well if it's your mod then you won't have any problem in knowing the internal names but my advise would be that if you're not a hardcore modder then keep the names because if you miss an entry then it can cause a CTD and make you wonder on the actual cause, as such errors aren't logged in the report.
Ok thanks, I don't know what to do. It would make the modding a lot more pleasant to replace the names and my mod will also add about 8 factions. Since I have to do everything from scratch I could just use new names.
No they're not hardcoded, it's just simpler to rename the actual name from the expanded.txt file rather than changing the internal name in many different places, plus it helps in avoiding CTDs if something is left out by any chance.
Hi Ishan, I've got a small question: Are the names of England, France etc. hardcoded? Because even TATW doesn't change them.
I can't be everywhere, can't believe it was right under my nose.
something might have to be done here, it's just people flaming on eachother with huge nationalistic ego's and it's totally off-topic http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=478116
Ohhhh watch out!
