It's a very Merit-Based Country. You'd have to become a Svain (something like a Squire) to a Hirdsman who would train you until you have the capability of becoming a Hirdsman yourself. You'd have trials put up for you to resolve and then be given the post by the Aurcustodian of Powys. After that you could go up the rank to Gothi (leader of a "pack", there are only 6 of them in total), then you could try your luck to enter the Aurcustodian Order and win yourself power over a region. The Aurcustodians have absolute power in Ryn, only being subject to teh King (The Assembly can also judge him and strip him of his title for gross misconduct though)
